Chrysler issued a recall today for several Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles that need to have a defective part replaced in their brakes. Models include some 2010 Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger sedans, Dodge Nitro, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Commander and Grand Cherokee SUVs, and 2009 and 2010 Dodge Ram trucks.
The recall is to replace a defective brake booster rod retaining clip which is necessary to consistent and proper functioning of the brakes. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not reported any crashes or injuries as a result of this problem. Chrysler workers discovered the problem during quality assurance tests at one of their assembly plants in the past few weeks, and Chrysler is acting aggressively to replace this part.
